Catherine Casserly, Ph.D seeks to enable equitable learning opportunities, for all, across the globe. She is Vice President, Learning Networks at EdCast, a Stanford StartX company that empowers lifelong learning through collaboration, engagement and Personal Knowledge Networks.

Casserly is a Fellow with the Aspen Institute and a member of the Technical Working Group developing the 2015 National Education Technology Plan. She was formerly the CEO of Creative Commons, a global non-profit that supports people and institutions to share their creative, scholarly, and other knowledge assets.

Early in her career, Casserly was a teacher of mathematics in Kingston, Jamaica. She earned her doctorate in the Economics of Education from Stanford University and a BA in Mathematics from Boston College.
