Actress and multi-Emmy award nominee Charlotte Ross stars as the shrewd squad manager, Olivia, in the VH1 scripted drama series HIT THE FLOOR with Kimberly Elise and Dean Cain airing Monday nights at 9:00pm on Vh1 that was just renewed for a second season. She is best-known for her role as Detective Connie McDowell on NYPD BLUE and her turn as the uptight and overprotective Judy Fabray (mother of Quinn, played by Dianna Agron) on the hit Fox series GLEE.
Instead of following in her parents’ Princeton and Harvard grad footsteps, the Winnetka, Illinois native fell in love with acting early on in her childhood and decided to follow the Hollywood route. Early in her career, Ross worked at Second City and the Goodman Theater in Chicago before landing her first major role as Eve Donovan on the long-running soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES for which she nabbed two Emmy nominations. Ross’ other television series credits include the long-running NBC hit ER and the critically acclaimed John Wells-helmed Showtime series BEGGARS AND CHOOSERS.
With the birth of her son, Max, Charlotte embraced taking a break from acting to focus on being a mom. Two years after giving birth, Ross returned to work staring on JAKE IN PROGRESS, Lifetime’s Nora Roberts film MONTANA SKY, CHRISMTAS IN PARADISE and LAW & ORDER as the memorable character ‘Anne Coltour’. More recently, Ross can be seen showing off her athleticism as the first female umpire in professional baseball in THE UMPIRE. Her film credits also include co-starring in Nicolas Cage’s DRIVE ANGRY and STREET KINGS: MOTOR CITY opposite Ray Liotta.
A successful actress and proud single mom to her now 9-year-old son, Ross is also an avid animal rights activist (widely known for her PETA “I’d rather go naked…” campaign) and a fitness fanatic.
Charlotte continues to captivate audiences and impress critics with her unbelievable range as an actress.
