Connor Wood

I'm a postdoc who studies religion, ritual, cognition, and evolution.

Connor Wood is a postdoc at the Institute for the Bio-Cultural Study of Religion in Boston. He holds a PhD in religious studies from Boston University and previously studied creative writing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Connor's interests include the intersection of religion and ideology, religion and science, evolution, and ritual theory. Connor's recent academic work has focused on signaling theory and self-regulation in religious groups. He's also written several encyclopedia articles on shamanism, and once shared vodka with a German-speaking shaman in Mongolia.
