Debbie Gisonni is an energetic business leader, best selling author, speaker and entrepreneur with a passion for inspiring personal and professional growth, empowering women, and helping businesses succeed. She has embodied the spirit of innovation and reinvention throughout her career with leadership positions in corporate and nonprofit industries such as B2B publishing, high tech, consumer publishing, health and wellness, metaphysics, education and hospitality. She currently serves as CEO for the Professional Business Women of California (PBWC), a nonprofit organization that empowers women at all levels to achieve ambitions and gender equality in the workplace.
Debbie was one of the first and youngest female publishers in high tech as publisher of Network Computing and publishing director of InternetWeek. After a series of family tragedies—one from suicide—Debbie left her corporate job, wrote a book about her ordeal to help others, and launched a new career as a personal growth expert and speaker. She has advised business groups and individuals alike to adopt healthy lifestyle and work habits including meditation.
In 2010, Debbie was asked to lead Stillheart Institute as Executive Director, and later became CEO. She launched the nonprofit educational organization as an overnight spiritual, health and wellness retreat center. After four successful years, she initiated and led the sale of the property and facility and decided to return to her independent consulting business.
Another opportunity and career shift took place in 2016 when Debbie joined the Professional Business Women of California as CEO. The nonprofit organization founded by California Congresswoman Jackie Spieir offers programming, networking, mentoring and conferences for women’s career success. In addition, she continues to stay current on business trends through her business consulting, speaking and writing services.
Debbie’s nonfiction books are The Goddess of Happiness: A Down-to-Earth Guide for Heavenly Balance and Bliss and Vita’s Will: Real Life Lessons about Life, Death & Moving On. Her first novel, Note to Self: Love, was released in 2013 with an accompanying screenplay. She has addressed audiences from corporate executives to women’s groups to teen girls and has written articles and been featured in publications worldwide. As an advocate for healthy living, self-awareness, gender equality, women’s empowerment and LBGTQA rights, Debbie often speaks and writes about these topics. Her blog appears on numerous platforms including the Huffington Post, and she is a regular contributor to “America Weekend with Valerie Smaldone...and Friends.”
