Derrick Johnson is the president of the Mississippi NAACP State Conference and Member of the NAACP National Board of Directors. In 2007, he successfully managed the Jackson Public School District bond referendum campaign that brought $150 million in renovation and new schools to the Jackson, Mississippi area. He has also provided redistricting services to municipal and county governments across the state of Mississippi and been a leader in equitable rebuilding for the working poor in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
