Dr. Ferric C. Fang is Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Microbiology and Adjunct Professor of Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Washington, and Director of Clinical Microbiology at the Harborview Medical Center. He received his undergraduate and medical education at Harvard University, and his residency and fellowship training in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Fang is presently Editor-in-Chief of the journal Infection and Immunity, Director of the UW Interdisciplinary Training Program in Bacterial Pathogenesis, past Chair of the American Society for Microbiology General Meeting, and an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the American Academy of Microbiology. Over the past twenty years, the Fang Laboratory has published approximately one-hundred fifty papers, primarily relating to the pathogenesis of bacterial infections.
