Gary Rivlin's latest book is BROKE, USA: From Pawnshops to Poverty, Inc. -- How the Working Poor Became Big Business. He's the author of three previous books: Fire on the Prairie (Winner of the Carl Sandburg Award); Drive By (a New York Times Notable Book of the Year); and The Plot to Get Bill Gates.
