One year and two months ago I moved from Brazil to New York City and started to study at Manhattan Village Academy where people pronounced Georgia Soares very differently than people at my Brazilian school. My life has changed tremendously but my passion for writing has remained the same. Now the words come out in a different language, but Girls Write Now (where I am a first-year mentee) helps me with that. I am a senior living in Manhattan and working on stories daily, often times turning my fictional stories into something more autobiographical than they should be, with my amazing mentor Karen. I write because I love to read books and I read books because they’re my best company. Writing compliments my relationship with literature and I cannot imagine my life without writing as I can’t imagine breathing without air. Therefore, I want to grow up writing stories and books until I am considered a book writer.
