Gideon Gartner Entrepreneur

Gideon Gartner was born in Israel but from the age of two, grew up in New York City. He founded and exited from three companies: Gartner Inc., today a $1.4 billion firm founded in 1979; SoundView Technology Group (sold to Charles Schwab, now UBS); and Giga Information Group which went public on NASDAQ but was later sold to Forrester Research.

Having attended MIT for undergraduate and graduate degrees, Gideon then began his career working for tech giants, RAND, Philco & IBM. Following stints as a top Wall Street analyst at EF Hutton and Oppenheimer, Gideon became a true, serial entrepreneur, CEO & Chairman. He’s been called “The Father of the Advisory Industry.”

Gideon has an intense appreciation of music; he’s an accomplished pianist and French Horn player. He spends much of his time as a philanthropist and trustee for a number of non-profits and charities while also a member of the New York Angels investment group.
