Heather Leibowitz

Director of Environment New York

Heather is Environment New York's Director. With Environment New York, Heather has worked on a broad array of environmental issues, including preventing fracking in New York and efforts to combat global warming. Heather has contributed to efforts to promote policies that incentivize a clean energy economy through renewable and energy efficiency programs.

Heather received her J.D. from Pace Law School with certificates in Environmental and International Law. Prior to joining ENY in 2013, Heather had the privilege of representing the Dominican Republic in negotiations leading up to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. While in law school Heather also worked with the Criminal Enforcement Division of the Environmental Protection Agency, Amnesty International USA, Human Rights Watch, and the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU School of Law.
