How Democracy Works Now: Twelve Stories is a documentary series of stories that brings the viewer behind the scenes of American democracy to show how change happens at every level of government.

With immigration reform as its focus, HDWN is the result of seven years of unprecedented access to back-room Capitol Hill negotiations, starring D.C. power brokers like Senator Ted Kennedy and Senator Sam Brownback, influential staffers, small town politicians and grassroots activists.
