Madge donned the scout uniform to draw attention to what she sees as the Boy Scouts of America's 'f**ked-up' standpoint on LGBT rights and 'stupid rules' prohibiting openly gay people from serving.
"I wanted to be a boy scout, but they wouldn't let me join," she teased the audience at the start of her 12 minute speech. "I think that's f**ked up."
"I know how to pitch a tent, I have a very good sense of direction, I can rescue kittens from trees, I want to do good for the community, and most importantly, I know how to scout for boys," she joked.
She then went on to say she wanted to 'start a revolution' and showed her support for gay rights, saying: "Most people are not comfortable with things or people that they perceive as different from themselves, and I would wager that if we just took the time to get to know each other, did our own investigation, looked beneath the surface of things that we would find that we're not so different after all."
The singer then presented US news anchor Anderson Cooper - who came out in an open letter last July - with the prestigious Vito Russo award, before planting a smacker on the journalist.
After coming up for air, he said: "Do I have lipstick from Madonna on me? It's a first. Kissing a woman, that is."
He then praised Madonna for being "an extraordinary ally" of the LGBT community, before describing being gay as "one of the greatest blessings" of his life.

The 19-year-old continued with his rant, addressing stories in the press this week which he claims are false.

If we'd bothered to tune into the latest series of 'TOWIE' (yes, yes, we know, unforgivable) we'd know alllllll about the term 'gayby' by now (definition: a baby adopted by a gay man. Genius) but it took a feud between Chantelle and TOWIE's gay-in-residence Bobby to enlighten us of this new entry into the Essex vernacular.

It all kicked off after Bobby told 'TOWIE' pal Gemma Collins that he wanted to adopt a 'gayby' during a recent episode of 'The Only Way Is Essex' - a phrase that Chantelle (previously of Alex Reid 'fame') took exception to in her column for new! magazine.
"I was gobsmacked that TOWIE's Bobby Norris has said he wants a 'gayby'," she phoned in wrote.
"I'm not against gay men being fathers, but it sounds to me that he wants a new accessory rather than a baby that needs love and attention 24/7," she added.

The 61-year-old 'Total Eclipse Of the Heart' singer will fly the flag for the UK at the 58th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, in front of an estimated global audience of over 120 million viewers.

Bonnie will perform the song, 'Believe In Me', which was co-written by Desmond Child who has penned huge international hits for the likes of Bon Jovi, Cher and Aerosmith.
The Welsh star - who had hits with 'Holding Out For A Hero' and 'Lost In France' - said she was 'honoured' to be representing the UK in the singing contest, which take place on the 18 May.
“I am truly honoured and delighted to be able to represent my country at Eurovision,and especially with such a fabulous song, " she said. "I promise to give this everything that I've got for the UK.”
Born in Skewen, Neath, South Wales, Bonnie is best known for her huge 80s power ballad (and karaoke favourite) 'Total Eclipse Of the Heart', a collaboration with with epic rock pioneer (and Meatloaf's mate) Jim Steinman.
Bonnie - who is due to release her new album ‘Rocks and Honey’ in May - follows in the footsteps of 76-year-old Engelbert Humperdinck who represented the UK at Eurovision last year but managed only 12 points for his ballad 'Love Will Set You Free'.
The UK last won in 1997 when Katrina And The Waves stormed to victory with 'Love Shine A Light'.

The group 'won' the Worst Band gong at Wednesday night's NME awards, with Harry Styles also bagging himself the Villain of The Year accolade.

It's no surprise the boyband got the the thumbs down from the magazine's indie/rock-loving readers but we're still trying to work out why they voted Harry as the biggest villain, beating off stiff competition from David Cameron.
Maybe they're jealous of his curly locks and success with the ladies? Or it could just be his collection of crap tattoos.
Whatever the reason, Hazza clearly isn't bothered - he'd already said he'd like to win the award.
