Inwood House

We help teens take charge of their lives.

Inwood House helps teens take charge of their lives and become healthy, self-reliant adults. Inwood House develops whole teens ready to realize their potential. We are the leaders in helping youth in New York City become healthy, self-reliant adults. We believe in young people and their potential – no matter their circumstances. We help youth overcome the cycles of poverty linked to teenage pregnancy through prevention and support programs that help them take charge of their lives, be positive, active members of their families, communities & society, lead & be examples to other young people.

Established in 1830 to empower young women through a secular organization, Inwood House provides a wide range of services to improve life-long outcomes for thousands of youth from vulnerable communities in New York City. We work with K-12 students, pregnant and parenting teens and their children. We work to develop them as whole people, supporting their health, mental health, education, family & community relationships, self-esteem, personal goals and talents, employability, and tools to evaluate and make choices. Inwood House is a source of hope, guidance and opportunity. We create safe, supportive, non-judgmental environments where teenagers can thrive.
