Jag Davies

Director of Communications Strategy, Drug Policy Alliance

Jag Davies is the Director of Communications Strategy at the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), the nation’s leading organization promoting drug policies grounded in science, compassion, health and human rights. Davies oversees the production of DPA publications and facilitates best practices in the implementation of the organization’s messaging and brand identity. He is regularly quoted in a wide range of media outlets and his writings have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC.com, CNN.com, and dozens of regional and online publications.



Davies has over a dozen years of professional experience working for sensible drug policy reforms. Before joining DPA in 2009, he served as Director of Communications for MAPS, a nonprofit organization conducting clinical trials aimed at developing marijuana and certain psychedelic drugs into federally-approved prescription medicines. Davies also previously coordinated local, state, federal, and international efforts to end punitive drug policies at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Drug Law Reform Project (now known as the Criminal Law Reform Project).



Davies grew up in Miami and is a graduate of New College of Florida, the honors college of the state university system of Florida. He currently lives in New York City.
