Co-founder and co-director of the California Innocence Project
Professor Jan Stiglitz Jan Stiglitz is a Professor of Law at California Western School of Law, and co-founder and Co-Director of the California Innocence Project, a legal clinic which investigates claims of wrongful conviction. He holds a J.D. from Albany Law School and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Stiglitz has litigated claims of factual innocence in various California state and federal trial and appellate courts. The project has freed eight men who together served more than 100 years behind bars for crimes they did not commit. Stiglitz recently argued one case (In re William Richards) before the California Supreme Court and has another case (In re Daniel Larsen) pending before the 9th Circuit.
