Jared Friedland, 36, is a Dartmouth graduate and former Hollywood television writer who leveraged his comedy writing chops and Ivy League education to found Catalyst Prep, a national test prep company that uses humor and pop culture to teach students to outsmart standardized tests like the SAT and GRE. Mr. Friedland founded Catalyst in Los Angeles in 2006 and has since grown the company to 11 states and more than 20,000 students per year. Catalyst's unique approach has been featured in CNBC and TIME, and the company has partnered with numerous educational non-profits to provide pro bono test prep services to economically disadvantaged students taking the SAT and ACT.
