After dropping out of The University of The West Indies and striking out on my own at 19, in order to escape religious control at home, I was hand-picked by Gerard Besson at Lonsdale Saatchi & Saatchi, out of 40 candidates attending one of their creative workshops in 1997. Within a year of my internship, I had won two gold ADDYS. I have worked with such brands as Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo International, Scotiabank, TSTT (Telecommunications Service of Trinidad and Tobago) and Procter & Gamble, with awards in the double digits.

Today, most of the work I do is for non-profit organizations and funding bodies such as the EU, UNDP, World Bank who have a commitment to helping the Caribbean achieve First World Status through a number of environmental, economic and social development initiatives. I am the Creative Strategist at Accela Marketing, based in Saint Lucia and Canada. It is a female-owned and managed agency with a serious social commitment to the region. The CEO is the President of the Women's Entrepreneur Network of the Caribbean founded by Hilary R. Clinton, the agency has also adopted The Upton Girls’ Garden Center, which is a home for abandoned and abused girls.

I currently live in the north of of Saint Lucia with my partner of 17 years, Nicola Franco, a swim coach and care provider for kids with special needs, also Trinidadian. Our life stories were part of a 2007, Lloyd Newson production for DV8 Theatre London called, To Be Straight With You about gay people in homophobic societies or who overcame homophobia.

I am also a long-standing social consciousness blogger, voice-actor and activist.
