Jessica Melore is one of the original founding members of Harboring Hearts Housing, having joined co-founders, Michelle Javian and Yuki Kotani, she helped drive its mission forward while participated and formulated its original founding Board of Directors. She was invited to represent the voice of patients faced with heart disease. A heart attack and heart transplant survivor from age 16, Jessica is now a motivational speaker and public health advocate and was named the Allen Macey Dulles awardee from Princeton University and one of the 2002 Glamour Magazine’s Top 10 College Women. She has appeared on Dateline, Good Morning America, MTV, ABC Nightly News, Extra!, and Telemundo, and has written for and been featured in publications including Woman’s Day, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and National Geographic Explorer for Kids. Always grateful for the support of her family and friends during her transplant experience, Jessica believes Harboring Heart’s mission is vital because a network of empathetic supporters can make all of the difference in the recovery process for heart patients.
