Joe Territo is SVP, Content and User Engagement, for Penton Media, based in New York. Penton provides business decision makers and owners with actionable ideas and insights, data and workflow tools, community and networking--all with deep relevance to their specific industries. Joe's responsibilities include driving digital content innovation and best practices, building and nurturing highly interactive and engaged digital communities, and assuring a dynamic mix of content from proprietary, expert-contributed, curated and user-generated sources.
Previously Joe was Executive Director, Content, for Advance Digital, in Jersey City. Advance operates leading local news and information websites in major U.S. markets served by Newhouse Newspapers. In this position, Joe focused exclusively on mobile initiatives, leading the launch and operation of more than 250 mobile websites and apps that boosted mobile traffic from zero to 10 million unique monthly visitors in three years. He was with Advance for 15 years, in various senior content and product development roles.
Joe started his career as a reporter for The Star-Ledger in Newark, and was a writer and producer for Time.com and Time Inc. New Media. He received an MA in media studies from New School University, in New York, and a BA in political science and print journalism from American University, in Washington.
