John DeCock Environmental Activist And Writer

John DeCock has been an activist, a leader in the environmental movement and a writer over the span of a 30 year career. He has served as President and CEO of Clean Water Action, a national environmental group which was established in 1972 to lead the effort to pass the historic Clean Water Act. Prior to his time with Clean Water Action, John spent 27 years working in the field of conservation and environmental protection with the Sierra Club and The Sierra Club Foundation, where he served as Executive Director for nine years.

John has also worked as a professional musician, adventure travel trip leader and musical instrument repairman. John is a father of three and lives in San Francisco, California.
