John E. Calfee has been a Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute since 1995. He served for several years as a staff economist and manager in the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission, taught marketing and consumer behavior at the business schools of the University of Maryland and Boston University, spent a year as a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. His research on food marketing, public health, and other topics has been published widely in various outlets including Health Affairs, the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and the Annals of Internal Medicine.
