Kanene Holder Educator, Artist, Activist, Healer, Satirist and Girl from Brooklyn Living in Harlem

Award winning educator and artist who always uses the lens of human rights to enlighten and entertain. Along with facilitating social justice roundtables and forums for underserved middle school youth to develop poetry that has been performed at venues including Columbia University, her students also spearheaded panel discussions on police brutality, racial profiling and education reform. Ms. Holder also presents about parental engagement and diversity and policy at several conferences including recently at Cambridge and Columbia University due to her fellowships with CORO, The Colin Powell School and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Lastly, Ms. Holder is also an accomplished artist having performed at venues including, Symphony Space and Harlem Stage and was a Creative Capital Finalist. Her latest work The MisAdventures of Fredriqua Douglass- Black Ops, is an exploration of political oppertaives.
