Karen Zainal

Karen writes regularly on mental health, urban education, the sanctity of life, and faith on Under Reconstruction. As an aspiring special educator, she is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities recognize their own worth and potential, as well as helping others see the intrinsic value in every human being regardless of ability. She currently teaches Math at a disadvantaged high school on the South Side of Chicago, and creates mental-health-inspired art under the label Thingamadoodle.
