Kate Parker

Principal Analyst for Economist Intelligence Unit (Latin America team), Editor

Kate Parker has been a member of the Economist Intelligence Unit's Latin America team for nine years. She is currently the principal analyst for Venezuela, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago, but has previously covered most countries in the region, as well as the Latin America regional overview publication.

Kate also has extensive knowledge of the Andean sub-region, with a particular focus on Venezuela. In addition to her responsibilities as a senior Latin America analyst, Kate is part of the EIU's product development team, working on the business environment rankings. She also frequently represents the EIU in the media, meets with clients and has spoken at Economist Conference events. Prior to the EIU, Kate worked for four years as an analyst and editor covering the main political and economic developments in the Andean.

Kate has a B.A. in International Relations and an M.A. in Political Economy from the University of Birmingham.
