Dr. Kelly Posner is Founder and Director of the Center for Suicide Risk Assessment at Columbia University and Principal Investigator of the FDA Columbia Suicide Assessment Project. She works with the FDA, CDC, NIMH, military health care agencies, U.S. Department of Education and other agencies, as well as states and countries on suicide assessment and surveillance. The President of the American Psychiatric Association has stated that because of her work, we “may actually be able to make a dent in the rates of suicide that have existed in our population and have remained constant over time…that would be an enormous achievement in terms of public health care and preventing loss of life.”
