Kevin F. Adler is an entrepreneur and sociologist who uses technology to unlock the potential of our communities.
Kevin F. Adler is the co-founder of NearShot media + interaction, makers of the Homeless GoPro Project. HGP dispels myths around homelessness by outfitting homeless volunteers with high-definition personal cameras, which they use to capture the world as they see it.
Kevin’s groundbreaking first book, Natural Disasters as a Catalyst for Social Capital, will be published by UPA in early 2015. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Forbes, NPR, PRI, NBC News, Fox Business, Daily Mail, International Educator, and Huffington Post.
Previously, Kevin was the co-founder of alumn.us (a fundraising platform for high schools that was acquired in 2013), Entangled Ventures (an EdTech incubator), and BetterGrads (an e-mentoring nonprofit). He also served for a year as an ambassador of goodwill in Mexico for Rotary International.
Kevin is a founding trustee of the Awesome Foundation-SF, a StartingBloc Fellow, and an advisor to a number of technology-enabled, socially-driven startups. He completed his graduate studies at Cambridge University, and was the Culley Award recipient as the top graduate at Occidental College.
