Kevin Ross is president and CEO of 3BAAS Media Group, a strategic online marketing and public relations firm. The former Superior Court judge turned tech-savvy entrepreneur created the company specifically for clients seeking to merge traditional communications tools with new media sensibilities.
In his early years, the South L.A. native juggled a string of sales jobs while holding leadership positions including student body president at both Gardena High School and Morehouse College.
Upon graduation from Southwestern University School of Law, Ross worked eight years as a prosecutor securing convictions and implementing gang nuisance injunctions in crime-infested areas. After an unsuccessful run for a seat on the Los Angeles City Council, he would later become the youngest elected judge in the state of California.
Recognized for his unique insights, Kevin Ross is a respected television and radio commentator. Appearances include Fox News Channel, CNN, MSNBC, Black Entertainment Television (BET), and NPR. During his seven years on the bench, Ross produced several featured segments on KCET’s “Life & Times Tonight” where he tackled legal issues from a judicial perspective. His musings on various issues have been featured in periodicals such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Daily News, and the Los Angeles Sentinel. In the academic arena, Ross has been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California.
Kevin Ross also has an extensive background in radio. After co-producing a weekly public affairs program, he went on to host his own show on Talkradio 790 KABC. He currently has the top online Current Events radio program on Blogtalkradio.com.
Since moderating the 1st Annual “Blogging While Brown” conference in Atlanta, Georgia, Ross has become a leading figure advancing the increasing role social networks and bloggers are playing in how the world obtains its news and information. He has gone on to serve as a panelist on the “I Rock The Mic” urban radio conference in Miami and the 10th Annual State of the Black Union, hosted by Tavis Smiley in Los Angeles. Having coined the phrase “Digital Renaissance Movement”, Ross recently organized and moderated the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism’s Urban New Media Panel as part of the 4th Annual “Beyond Broadcast” Media Conference.
What most defines the South L.A. native, however, is his role as a husband and father of two energetic young boys.
