Laura McCarter is a senior at the Charter School of Wilmington, in Delaware. Looking back on her high school experience, she notes that few things have meant as much to her as volunteering. Laura earned bronze and silver scouting awards helping out at a local animal shelter and baking cookies for emergency services workers. She also volunteers at local nursing homes and tutors younger children. She plans to attend Georgia Southern University next fall and will major in early childhood studies.
