Lauren De Vos is a conservation biologist based at the Save our Seas Shark Education Centre in South Africa. Her PhD is focused on using remote imagery techniques for sustainable biodiversity mapping and conservation planning in False Bay. Lauren previously ran a research project in conjunction with the South African Environmental Observation Network, the University of Cape Town and the Save our Seas Foundation, testing GoPro baited remote underwater video systems (BRUVs) for marine protected area monitoring. She is passionate about ocean conservation, science communication and using the power of film to inspire public interest in conservation issues.
