Lia Petridis Maiello has been working as a journalist since 1994 for different German and U.S. American outlets. Her work appeared in die tageszeitung, der freitag, Badische Zeitung, Deutsche Welle, Financial Times Germany and ARD - German TV, ZDF - German TV, WBAI radio, Amsterdam News, Women's Media Center, Aufbau, New Yorker Staatszeitung and The Huffington Post. She is holding an MA degree from the German University of Bielefeld in the subjects of History, Social History and Modern Literature, and has also studied in Pisa, Italy. Since her move to New York City in 2004, she has worked as a journalist for print, online, radio and TV outlets, as well as a web-editor for an Internet Start Up, Wall Street Correspondent during the Financial Crisis, TV producer for Germany's two largest public TV stations, ARD and ZDF, the Press Liaison for a Congressional Campaign in New York City and served as a Media Consultant at a United Nations based Non-Governmental-Organization (NGO). In summer 2015 she successfully completed a certificate in Integrated Communications at New York University (NYU). She is currently working as a spokesperson at the German Parliament in Berlin.
