Lloyd A. Jacobs, M.D, the 16th president of the University of Toledo, began his tenure in July of 2006 when UT merged with the Medical University of Ohio. Before his three years as MUO president beginning in 2003, Jacobs served as chief operating officer of the University of Michigan Health System. Following four years in the U.S. Marine Corp, Jacobs earned his bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and his M.D. from Johns Hopkins. Jacobs spent 15years at Wayne State, in Detroit, as a professor and vascular surgeon before making the move to UM.
