Environmental Advocate, Contributor to the DREAMers Blog Series

Luis R. Cabrales is a Mexican immigrant from Durango, Mexico. Currently, he serves as Deputy Director of Campaigns at Coalition for Clean Air, where he coordinates campaigns to reduce toxic chemicals from consumer products and air pollution from the transportation sector.

Since 2000, Luis has been working as an environmental health and justice advocate, where his work has had international impacts. In 2011, he was recognized by the Obama administration as a “Champion of Change” for his environmental work.

He is co-founder and board chair of the Fremont High School Alumni Foundation, a non-profit organization formed to create scholarships for underserved students at Fremont High School in South Los Angeles.
