Marshall Lewy

Marshall Lewy’s first short film, Balkanization, about a war photographer returning home from the conflict in 1990’s Yugoslavia, starred Mark Feuerstein (In Her Shoes, “The West Wing). It appeared in a number of film festivals and has been distributed around the world by Shorts International. It was also chosen as one of twenty-five quarterfinalist films to participate in the 2003 Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. Marshall’s second short film, Future Imperfect, also played on the festival circuit, including the Woodstock and Savannah Film Festivals, among others. Blue State is Lewy’s first feature film. He is currently developing his second feature, Exodus, with RK Films.

Lewy received his MFA in Film at Columbia University. He had the opportunity to study with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Eric Mendelsohn and Israel Horovitz. As an actor, Lewy appeared in the IFP/Independent Spirit Award-winning feature film, Funny Ha Ha directed by Andrew Bujalski.
