Martin’s role involves writing and commissioning events-driven analysis for the EIU's Energy Briefing service. Prior to working at the EIU, Martin was a researcher for Financial Times China Confidential in Beijing, where he was based for nearly eight years. He also worked as a freelance writer, writing for The Economist, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the International Herald Tribune and the EIU. Martin gained a BA in English from Leeds University and an MA in international relations from Waseda, Tokyo
