New York-based filmmaker
Matt Wolf is a New York-based filmmaker. His new film, Teenage, about the birth of youth culture, opens March 14th. Matt's acclaimed and award-winning feature documentary Wild Combination, about the avant-garde cellist and disco producer Arthur Russell, was released worldwide in 2008. His most recent film I Remember is about the artist and poet Joe Brainard. Matt has made short films for PBS, the Sundance Channel, and the New York Times, including the Op-Doc collaboration with Jon Savage The Role of Youth. Matt is currently creating a documentary series for the Whitney Museum and he is completing a documentary about the children’s book illustrator and Eloise co-creator Hilary Knight, executive produced by Lena Dunham for HBO. Matt is a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow.
