Max Benavidez, Ph.D., is Associate Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications at Claremont McKenna College. He previously served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Communications at UCLA and as Director of Media Relations at Caltech. He has been a producer at KNBC-TV and Southern California Public Radio and managed his own firm whose clients included Harvard University, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Ford Foundation and others. He is currently an adjunct professor at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He has been published extensively on topics including communications, the arts, public policy, and social media. He is a Fulbright Scholar and a former Ahmanson Fellow and received his B.A. at UCLA and his Ph.D. in New Media and Higher Education at Claremont Graduate University.
