Meg F. Schneider, MA, LCSW Psychotherapist; Author, Just A Little Too Thin; Co-author, Difficult Questions Kids Ask (And Are Too Afraid To Ask) About Divorce

Meg received her MA in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and MSW from Fordham University. She has worked with young people and adults struggling with substance abuse and trauma, connected with physical, emotional and sexual abuse. She has also spent many years at out-patient mental health clinics addressing the needs of clients with a broad range of other emotional issues.


Meg's approach includes psychodynamic (connecting the painful past with current problems), cognitive (helping clients reframe their negative beliefs about themselves and situations) and a solution focused therapy, at all times building on the unique strengths of each client. She is also a practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR -- a technique designed to alleviate distress by safely accessing and reprocessing critical memories.

She is also the author of many books in the parenting, family living, self help genres for adults and adolescents including, Just A Little Too Thin!, Sex And the Single Parent,
