Scientist working at the interface of nutrition and public health to understand and reduce obesity in children

Dr. Michael Goran is a leading expert in childhood obesity prevention with over 30 years of experience in the field. He is a professor of preventive medicine and pediatrics at the University of Southern California and co-director of the school’s Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute. A native of Glasgow, Dr. Goran received his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
