Peter Maybarduk is the Public Citizen Global Access to Medicines Program Director and an expert on intellectual property issues. He helps health agencies and civil society groups around the world overcome the monopoly power of the multinational pharmaceutical industry. His work has led to major policy changes and cost reductions for lifesaving medicines in several countries, and shifts in negotiations regarding appropriate policies for criminally adulterated medicines and the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement. Maybarduk received a J.D. from the UC Berkley School of Law. He is also co-founder of International Professional Partnerships for Sierra Leone (IPPSL), a non-profit dedicated to supporting public sector development in one of the world's least developed countries.
