Rabbi Fred Scherlinder Dobb Adat Shalom (Bethesda MD); Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life

Fred Scherlinder Dobb has been Rabbi of Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation (www.adatshalom.net, a dynamic green shul) in Bethesda MD since 1997. A long-time Jewish environmental educator and activist, now chair of the national Coalition on the Environment Jewish Life (www.COEJL.org) and a board member of the National Religious Partnership for the Environment, Fred recently completed five years as Chairperson of Maryland and Greater Washington Interfaith Power and Light (www.GWIPL.org). With a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary (having written on eco-theology and greening congregations), Fred was co-chair of Religious Witness for the Earth, and is a Past President of the Washington Board of Rabbis. He lives happily (save for lack of congressional voting representation) in DC with Minna Scherlinder Morse and their two glorious children.
