Senior oceans advocate, NRDC oceans program
Regan Nelson is the senior oceans advocate with the Natural Resources Defense Council’s oceans program. NRDC’s oceans program is focused on advancing the recovery of ocean fisheries, promoting the establishment of marine protected areas, reforming ocean governance, and addressing climate change and ocean acidification. Regan has worked in non-profit environmental advocacy since 2001, and has been with NRDC since 2009. Previously she has worked with the Aspen Institute’s Energy and Environment Program, The Nature Conservancy and Conservation Northwest. She holds a M.S. in conservation planning from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in environmental policy from the University of California Santa Cruz. She blogs on NRDC’s Switchboard.
