Roya Wolverson is CFR.org's economics and Iran writer. Previously, she worked as a staff reporter covering finance and investing at the Wall Street Journal's SmartMoney Magazine and wrote on foreign policy, domestic politics, and culture as a reporter for Newsweek. Her freelance work has appeared in the New Republic, the Boston Globe, the Wall Street Journal, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and on National Public Radio's On Point show.
Ms. Wolverson has a master's degree in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School and was a Fulbright Scholar on economic development in Mali, where she studied the impact of international cotton subsidies on Mali's economy. She earned a bachelor's degree in international politics and economics from Emory University.
