Hailing from New York City, Suzy began her career in television production working as a production assistant and segment producer for a variety of programs including, Ryan’s Hope; Good Morning America; The CBS Morning Program and Live Regis & Kathie Lee. Later, after earning her Master’s of Education in Parent and Child Development from Bank Street College of Education in New York City, Suzy went on to work with children and families Following the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, Suzy became active in Newtown’s recovery efforts working on community outreach efforts as well as working as a care coordinator for The Newtown Recovery and Resiliency Team. Suzy presently works with The Avielle Foundation – established in honor of Avielle Richman who lost her life in the Sandy Hook Shootings, heading up their “SPARK” initiative which aims to bring social and emotional learning skills to youth on a community wide basis. Suzy's website, Trauma Informed Parent - a resource for parents with children who have undergone trauma or adverse childhood experiences - will be launched in December, 2016. Suzy is mother to three children ages 22,19 and 17.
