Tammy Gold is a licensed therapist, certified parent coach, and the founder of the Tammy Gold Nanny Agency (www.tammygold.com). As a nationally recognized parenting expert, Tammy appears regularly on Good Morning America, The Today Show, FOX, and CBS News. She has appeared in more than 100 magazines and writes regularly for the Huffington Post, MommyCoach.com, TheBump, and Howcast. Tammy Gold has had the pleasure of working with families of all kinds for over a decade. She helps parents manage everything from finding the perfect nanny, to handling the terrible twos or tumultuous teens, to couples navigating their relationships. She realizes that being a parent is tough and even the best of us need a little support along the way. Her first book achieved critical acclaim and became an Amazon bestseller. It is entitled, Secrets of the Nanny Whisperer: A Practical Guide for Finding and Achieving the Gold Standard of Care for Your Child. The book was reviewed in the Library Journal and received a coveted star, calling it "exceptional advice", "a required purchase" and stated "well done..." The book is a resource for all parents in search of and looking to manage one of the most important people in their child's life - a babysitter, nanny or family caregiver. Publisher's Weekly said, "... Gold’s method appears likely to pay off in the long term. Parents setting out on the nanny quest will surely benefit from this practical handbook." Tammy has spent the last few years honing her evolutionary "Nanny Whisperer Communication Techniques" and refining her "Gold Standard Nanny Hiring Process" based on Dr. John Bowlby's theory of infant attachment, Erik Erickson's "Stages of Psychosocial Development", and Mary Ainsworth's "Secure Base Phenomenon." She is also one of the first therapists to marry psychotherapy with childcare so parents can better understand what their children specifically need from their caregivers at daycare or at home. Tammy earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Columbia University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Although there are many therapists and many coaches, Tammy is both. She is a psychotherapist licensed in NY and NJ a certified parent coach from two different programs. As a mom to three spirited girls, Tammy understands how challenging it can be as a busy modern parent and that is why she started her company -- to give parents everywhere the help and guidance they deserve. She believed if we can call and get support for our broken washing machine we deserved the same support for parenting problems. She helps parents around the globe by working via Skype, telephone, and in-person and makes herself available nights and even weekends to support any parent, couple, or family in need.
