The National Fund for Workforce Solutions is a national initiative founded to create and implement innovative approaches to developing career paths for the unemployed and underemployed, particularly low-wage workers, with a focus on closing the skills gap. Resulting programs are currently in place in 30 communities nationwide. Each community implements a customized version of the model with local employers in workforce partnerships. Together, they analyze the local labor market, identify current and future employer needs in industries key to that community, and develop training and career pathway programs that meet those needs.
