Thomasin Franken

Thomasin Franken is the Director of Extended Learning at DC Prep, a charter school network in Washington, DC.

After graduating Harvard University, Thomasin taught third grade in the Bronx for three years through the Teaching Fellows program, and then earned a culinary degree at the French Culinary Institute. Combining her experience with kitchens and kids, Thomasin then ran cooking programs for children in New York City and Minneapolis. Before working with DC Prep, Thomasin worked with DC Public Schools to create a wellness-focused after school program recognized by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan at Tyler Elementary School. Thomasin is also part of the White House's Chefs Move initiative.
