Thomas G. Loughlin, CAE, is the executive director of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). A mechanical engineer and Fellow of ASME, he has overall responsibility for the Society’s wide-ranging technical and educational programs, finance and operations, and staff. Founded in 1880, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society. ASME helps the global engineering community develop solutions to real world challenges.
