Yunuen Rodriguez is an undocumented queer activist and scholar. Her involvement in the immigrant rights movement dates to 2002, with efforts to pass Illinois's in-state tuition bill for undocumented students. She serves on boards of Youth Funding Committee at Crossroads Fund and the Roger Bardwell Scholarship, as a way to tackle multiple structural problems as well as assure that undocumented students, and other nontraditional students, from the City Colleges of Chicago can attain a bachelor's degree. Her current research focuses on the influence of intimate border-crossing relationships on our immigration movement. Her past weeks have been spent organizing for the "Bring Marcela Home! Support the DREAM 30" campaign in Illinois. Scribbling away next to bodies of water and squeezing Bebe Manchita, her cat, are among her favorite pastimes.
