Gallup's final likely voter estimate has an excellent track record. But this year they are, for the first time in recent history, a true outlier.
The answer is a loud and clear, no. They should be trying to figure out how their generic ballot poll went so badly wrong, not pretending that everything was just fine.
The GOP message machine is wrong about the significance of the midterm elections. Two years from now we can expect voter turnout to increase dramatically, especially among younger voters and minorities.
