Advantage: Keynes?

If you want to know what is going to happen next to your investments, the job and housing markets, and more generally to the economy, you may want to follow what is happening to the ideas of British economist John Maynard Keynes. Keynes argued that when economies are sputtering, the government must increase deficits, because its increased expenditures will stimulate the economy to better growth. But what happens when our leaders don't realize the economy is sputtering, and uncork the champagne early?

We do not need less stimulus right now, but more; we do not need less regulation, but more. We need to focus on job creation, not debt reduction, right now.

Playing Only Defense?

One may argue if Obama puts together a major job drive, the GOP would block it. However, then the president could stop playing only defense and go on the offense, making clear who has a major job-creation program and who is sabotaging it.

No Gridlock for the Right Wing

Contrary to the conventional wisdom, Washington is not gridlocked -- elected officials do not have to vote their party line. While practically all Republicans support conservative causes, a fair number Democrats vote conservatively as well.
